A LEGISLATOR WHO IS ACCESSIBLE AND AVAILABLE
Representative Mike Tryon has a legislative office in Crystal Lake which is staffed Monday through
Friday from 9am to 5pm. Constituents can make appointments to meet with Representative Tryon, or
they can work with his legislative aid. In addition, Representative Tryon often travels throughout his
district to sponsor informational sessions on topics such as property taxes, road funding, state finances,
education funding reform, health care, transportation, etc.

A LEGISLATOR WHO BRINGS JOBS AND NEW BUSINESS TO MCHENRY COUNTY
Prior to becoming a state legislator, Mike Tryon served on the McHenry County Economic Development
Corporation (EDC) for many years. The EDC’s purpose is to attract new business and good jobs to the
county. Since being elected to the state legislature, Representative Mike Tryon has served on the Smart
Growth and Regional Planning Committees and the Mass Transit sub-committee, and these committees
also focus on bringing good paying jobs to the area.
A LEGISLATOR WHO SECURES MORE STATE/FEDERAL MONEY TO EASE ROAD
CONGESTION IN MCHENRY COUNTY
Representative Tryon has secured $46 million in road money for his district. In addition, Representative
Tryon, along with Congressman Don Manzullo, secured over $9 million in federal matching funds to
build the long-overdue Western By-Pass linking Crystal Lake with Route 31 south of Algonquin. More

A LEGISLATOR WHO IS A LEADER IN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
Representative Mike Tryon is the only member of the State Legislature who has a Bachelor’s Degree in
Environmental Science. Illinois officials recognized his expertise, and Mike Tryon is currently serving on
four different committees which focus on energy and the environment. Mike Tryon also owns two
environmental companies in McHenry. As a legislator he improved public safety by sponsoring a
groundwater protection bill that received wide, bipartisan support.
